Two lion hunters size up an angry lion ready to spring. They do not shoot until the lion is on the attack and one hunter becomes mauled and latched onto before the other hunter dispatches it.
My question is why did the hunters not shoot before the attack? Was the hunting dogs in the way? Was it a bravado thing in front of the camera? Is this what they did in 1955? We can all agree that the shooting began just a bit to late and those fangs and claws could have proved lethal.
