Is there any truth to that epic bucket shot on the movie “Quigley Down Under”?
Well YouTubers MarkandSam AfterWork take aim at the famous shot.
Check out how close Hollywood is to the real world in this great test.
If you are a fan of Western style movies well “Quigley Down Under” might be a favorite from back in 1990. Actor Tom Selleck takes on a bucket from a standing stance at long distance and turns it holy in a hurry.
Well this test used a Sharps rifle in .45/70 caliber using 535 grain lead bullets. As the video rolls large caliber projectiles sail downrange and ultimately put a hole right through that bucket.
While Hollywood usually gets everything wrong in this instance it looks like the bucket shot is indeed plausible. Now that is some fancy long range shooting!
