Back in WW2 when the men went to war all hands were called in on the war effort.
Housewives became ammunition makers overnight.
Check out these female war effort workers tear up a target while testing ammunition they made.
My grandmother worked at a shell producing factory during World War Two. In those bleak times nations pulled together to fight the AXIS powers and to preserve freedom. All gave some during that time and some gave all.
These ladies in this video are testing out ammunition in a variety of different machine guns. They apparently have the best jobs at the factory as look at those smiles! Also note the lack of safety glasses. Times were certainly different back then where worker safety was concerned.
Hats off to the ladies that took care of the home front and ultimately supplied our troops overseas.
