Are you in the market for a quality leather shoulder holster?
Before you buy one check out this review of a great holster option.

Shoulder holsters are very handy in cooler weather when a jacket or other outerwear can be added over it. A full sized handgun and extra ammo can be concealed easily without adding weight to your belt or a holster tucked in your pants. You can also open carry with style when you are in an area that allows it.
I chose to review the Craft Holsters Eagle Shoulder Rig for my very accurate TISAS Duty SSR 1911 pistol in the hard hitting .45 ACP. cartridge. This full sized 1911 handgun is a joy to shoot but can be problematic to conceal for daily carry.

Before I start my review lets get a quick overview of what the Craft Holsters Eagle Shoulder Rig is all about:
- Designed for horizontal shoulder carry
- Custom made for your gun to ensure a perfect fit
- Handmade from the finest Italian full-grain leather
- Key parts of the holster double-stitched for extra durability
- Steel-reinforced leather strap for increased retention
- Counterbalance pouch for two magazines or speedloaders
- Easily adjustable shoulder harness
- Adjustable retention and draw resistance
- Suitable for both open & concealed carry
- Available in mahogany and black colors
- Available for right-handed shooters only
- Comes with Premium Lifetime Warranty
Magazine compatibility – Please note that the double magazine holster comes in a universal size, designed for double stack magazines of up to 16 rounds (up to .40 cal.). The double magazine pouch will take in only magazines with base capacity of the listed semi automatic pistol. The pouch isn’t designed to fit extended magazines.

Speedloader compatibility – Please note that in case of a revolver holster, the counterweight speedloader pouch is designed to fit a standard HKS Speeloader. The speedloader pouch is designed to hold speedloaders with up to 6 rounds of .38 and .357 calibers.
Harness customization option – By default, the shoulder harness is adjustable from size S up to size XL (33” – 47’’ chest circumference & 17” – 24’’ top shoulder to waist length). In case you need a bigger harness, just enter your request with your measurements in the “Add a Note” field when placing your order.

While I am a fan of the mahogany color for this review the black color is quite a beautiful match to the Tisas Stainless Steel 1911 pistol.
The magazine pouch holds either a standard 7 round or the larger 8 round mags with ease. There is an optional to use belt loop that snaps onto the magazine holder.
The fine leather construction is top notch. There is also plenty of adjustment available for just about any shooter’s body size.
The holster can also be detached from the shoulder harness from just two screws to become a standard hip holster. Belt loops also allow this holster to become a horizontal carry “small of your back” holster.

In summary I can honestly say the Craft Holsters Eagle Shoulder Rig is a great quality product that keeps both your sidearm and two spare magazines (or in the case of a revolver, speed loaders) close at hand.
