Previously I reviewed a Bear Creek Arsenal BC-10 Rifle in .308 caliber. I used the receiver from that review for testing out the Bear Creek Arsenal .22-250 Bolt Action AR-10 Upper and BCA 5-30×56 scope combination.
Assembly was super easy utilizing the 2 takedown pins on the receiver. I chose extra high scope mounts for mounting the BCA 5-30×56 scope. Now that is a sharp looking rifle!

Check out that bolt. It is quite unique and ergonomically friendly for cycling.

That scope impressed me right out of the box. Mounted on the Bear Creek Arsenal .22-250 Bolt Action AR-10 Upper it looks right at home.

The BCA 5-30×56 scope has nice knurled knobs that pop up for adjustment and lock down to keep everything true. They also control your illuminated red reticle. Perfect for those late predator hunts!

The sunshade helped out during review on a very sunny August day.

Assembled I noticed the bolt was tight to cycle but with use it loosened up nicely. At home I cycled the bolt while empty with a couple drops of oil for a few minutes to smooth things up. Now it’s time to hit the range!

Range day came on a really hot, sunny and humid August day. With the temperature in the high 80’s, it was certainly a jungle test!

The Bear Creek Arsenal .22-250 Bolt Action AR-10 Upper along with the BCA 5-30×56 Scope in it’s natural environment, the long range! My club range has both a 200 yard and a 300 yard range. After my initial sight in on the 100 yard range, it was all long distance from there.

Federal 50 grain .22-250 ammunition was the day’s load.

Squinting through sweat burning eyes and heat mirages off the barrel my best on paper group of the day was below at 200 yards. Could I have tightened up that group? Absolutely when the weather gets a bit cooler. Shots after that targeted the steel plate targets at 300 yards away. I connected on all shots well withing the center. I was very impressed with the Bear Creek Arsenal .22-250 Bolt Action AR-10 Upper and the BCA 5-30×56 Scope. Paired with the extremely flat shooting .22-250 cartridge I sighted in at 100 yards and was on all the way to 300 yards. Where was a coyote or groundhog when you need one!

Overall the Bear Creek Arsenal .22-250 Bolt Action AR-10 Upper along with the BCA 5-30×56 Scope functioned flawless on the range and ejection was quite positive. I did leave the buffer in the stock during review but I have heard of other shooters taking it out. I joked with a friend about my “spring assisted bolt”. It does work well!
The scope was quite fun especially cranked all the way up to 30 power. While targeting at 300 yards away you can certainly see your heart beat and move your rifle after a long march downrange.

I certainly recommend the Bear Creek Arsenal .22-250 Bolt Action AR-10 Upper along with the BCA 5-30×56 Scope. I look forward to chasing tiny groups as the weather cools down and smoking some vermin along the way!
