If you are a fan of the “Die Hard” movies the name “Nakatomi Plaza” is the high rise office building that was part of the cult classic movie. Bruce Willis starred as “Detective John McClane” and he fights it out with terrorists in epic fashion. His trusty shoulder holster held his Beretta 9mm pistol at the ready. Sweet rig right? Well you can now have your own version for the handgun of your choice.
While I did not have a Beretta handy, an early vintage Glock 17 handgun was going to be my test pilot for the 1791 Gunleather Nakatomi Special Shoulder Holster.
After a quick assembly that was easily followed on the instruction sheet included I took a look at the 1791 Gunleather Nakatomi Special Shoulder Holster. First off, I love the heavy duty build and quality hardware.

I have really become a fan of the shoulder straps of the 1791 Gunleather Shoulder Holsters for comfort.

The stitching is quite impressive and the 1791 Gunleather Nakatomi Special Shoulder Holster like all other 1791 Gunleather products is built to last.

You just can’t beat genuine 100% American Heavy Native Steerhide for a long lasting holster.

Extra magazine holders fit the standard length Glock 17 mags well. The buttons hold nice and tight but easily undone when needed. The retention screws also allow a custom fit. The belt loops can be used or easily detached.

The thumb strap was a bit too short and needed a bit of stretching. No problem with quality leather! I placed the handgun in a plastic bag, and then into the holster. I wetted down the thumb strap with a little rubbing alcohol and stretched the thumb strap into place and buttoned it. I then let the holster dry overnight with the bagged handgun inside of it. In the morning it was a custom fit. Easy as can be!

While trying out the 1791 Gunleather Nakatomi Special Shoulder Holster I found it concealed well under a larger flannel shirt, easily adjustable and is very comfortable. On this cold winter’s day of writing this review multiple flannel shirts are in style. It is amazing though what you can conceal with a quality holster.

If you are looking for a shoulder holster for daily use I can certainly recommend the 1791 Gunleather Nakatomi Special Shoulder Holster.
