Need a quick pistol powder measure that is no drama?

I got a chance to test out the RCBS Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure and this is what it’s all about.

Before we dive into the review, let’s see what RCBS has to say about this incredible product:

The Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure is a small and convenient volumetric powder measure designed for handloaders who need a reliable and precise tool for handloading pistols and small-caliber rifles.

The Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure is perfect for reloaders who need to load a variety of different powders, as it is compatible with 28 interchangeable fixed-charge powder rotors, allowing reloaders to load up to 400 different load combinations.

One of the key benefits of the Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure is that no readjustment is necessary after rotor changeover, making it quick and easy to switch between powders. Reloaders can use it handheld, adding to its convenience and ease of use.

Note: Any Powder Measure should be used in conjunction with an accurate powder scale for confirmation of the original charge and for checking charges occasionally during the run. DO NOT use with Black Powder.

Here is all about the RCBS Little Dandy Rotors:

The Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure is the perfect handheld powder measure for handloaders looking for a small and convenient volumetric powder measure for handloading pistols and select small-caliber rifles. These rotors are specific to a particular powder charge.

Each rotor for the little dandy is meticulously machined out of steel to deliver a consistent volumetric charge.  Once a rotor is changed over there is no readjustment necessary.  To help determine the correct rotor for your application, please review our powder rotor charge table below.

  • Not for use with Black Powder
  • Precision Machined Rotor for tight fit and accurate powder charges
  • Great for handgun shooters and select small-caliber rifle shooters
  • Fixed Charge weight rotor
  • Over 13 different load combinations

The brains of the operation in the Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure are the easily changed rotors. Above is the chart to determine what rotors are the best fit for your preferred powder and charge weight. Just check the chart to see what you need. Below while testing I used the #17 for a nice load of Hodgdon H110 powder for the .357 Magnum cartridges.

The small and large drop tubes (supplied) keep everything spill free for any cartridge from .22 to .45 size cartridge cases.

Test time was quite enjoyable with the Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure. Dropping powder into the cases by hand instead of a bench mount allowed more flexibility to the operation. The bottom of the Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure is threaded also if you want to use a Powder Measure Stand.

I found the RCBS Little Dandy Pistol Powder Measure along with the RCBS Little Dandy Rotors to be great additions to your loading bench, especially for handgun and small caliber rifle cartridges. Be sure to check these great products and all of the other extremely helpful handloading tools and gear you need on the RCBS website.
