Looking for a leather Western style belt complete with ammo loops?
Well Craft Holsters has a great belt that certainly fills that role.
I got a chance to review the Craft Holsters Western Belt with Ammo Holders and this is what it’s all about.
Are you a fan of the Old West? Do you love those old western movies with legends like Clint Eastwood and John Wayne? Maybe you are a cowboy action shooter who loves to compete in the fast shooting sports in period gear? Well, you also might be like me who enjoys carrying quality leather to pack your guns and ammo afield and at the range. A classic leather belt with cartridge loops works great in those instances. Lets take a look at what the Craft Holsters Western Belt with Ammo Holders has to offer.
- Premium Italian leather with lacquered finish
- Unique western look
- Sturdy and durable leather
- A set of 18 cartridge holders attached to the belt
- Durable contrastive stitching
- High quality solid brass buckle
- Width 2.75″
- Available in up to XL sizes
- Available in mahogany color
For the review I chose a size medium belt. Since in colder weather I prefer to wear a holster belt over heavier clothing I could have picked a size large belt but for regular wear in warmer weather the medium size works great. This is what Craft Holsters had to say about sizing:
“Before selecting the correct belt length, make sure you properly measure your waist circumference. Then, select the belt size that indicates the sizing interval your waist circumference falls under. Each belt size in the “size” drop-down menu comes with two values. The value on the left indicates what’s the smallest waist size the given belt size is appropriate for. The value on the right indicates the largest waist size the given belt size will fit. Example – If your waist circumference is 33.4”, you should select the size S. If it’s more than 35.4”, you should pick the size M.”
What about the cartridge loops? What sizes do they accept? Well from left to right in the picture below is 9mm, .38 Special, .357 Magnum, .44 Magnum and the .45/70 rifle cartridge. Leather has a certain amount of stretch to it to accommodate different calibers with ease. The 9mm, .38 Special, and .357 Magnum cartridges fit nice and secure and are easy enough to take out or add quickly. The .44 Magnum was quite tight. The .45/70 also is quite tight but as you can see it is possible to put them in the shell loops.
The stitching is very well done and is quite sturdy. The all brass belt buckle is quite a stylish functional accent that sets the belt apart from any ordinary belt.
After thoroughly testing out the Craft Holsters Western Belt with Ammo Holders I can certainly rave about the great features and durability. All that have taken a look at it at the range have been quite impressed by the workmanship that went into it and the premium Italian leather used. The stitching always catches the eye too. It certainly is a belt unlike all others that deserves to be on your waist also for packing your favorite shooting iron and its ammo.
