In the market for a new scouting camera?

Covert Scouting Cameras Black Viper Cam is ready for action.

This is my review of what the Covert Scouting Cameras Black Viper Cam can do.

The Classic Woodsman

Now is the time to start watching your hunting areas for game movements. That is exactly the case here in Ohio for whitetail deer even though the heavy rain and flooding that has plagued the state. Despite all of the wet conditions the Covert Scouting Cameras Black Viper Cam was sent out to me for testing. How will it do in such wet conditions? Will it perform well day and night? The testing was about to show me just how well this camera can do.

The Classic Woodsman

Looking under the hood I found the Covert Scouting Cameras Black Viper Cam will use 8 AA size batteries for maximum efficiency. It will however work on only 4 batteries in a pinch. There is a 1″ color viewer screen for checking your footage while still afield. The camouflage case with a waterproof gasket keeps out the wet. That important feature will play a big part during this review.

The Black Viper is a scant 5″ x 4.1″ x 2.3″ in size. With 20 megapixels, a 52° field of view, 720P HD video with audio and a quick .65 Second trigger speed the great features have just begun to be listed. The 40 No Glow LED’s invisible flash technology has a 100 foot flash range allow for plenty of light and range for night images and videos. The Maximum Silence Image Capture™ has a 1-10 turbo shot burst feature and the unit can take up to a 32GB SD Card. The pipe through security allows a cable or strap to lock down the camera against theft. A reinforced tripod mount is located on the bottom of the Black Viper for maximum mounting options. Supplied with the camera is a mounting strap.

Daylight pictures from this unit were very good as can be witnessed in these images. The familiar Time/Date/Temp/Moon Phase Stamps on the images and videos tell you all the information you need from when that image was captured.

This sneaky night traveler was caught in the act. The Black Viper sports invisible flash technology made sure this animal never saw the flash.

Below a buck in velvet walks past the Black Viper Cam while in video mode. Turn up the volume and listen to hear even the hoof impacts on the ground.

Night time use also proves the worth of the Black Viper Cam’s video capabilities. Night or day the images and videos show what comes down this trail in great detail.

During my testing I did not experience any problems with the Covert Scouting Cameras Black Viper. Images and videos were in great detail and the battery life was exceptional. The case stayed sealed tight against the unending rains and high humidity. The Covert Scouting Cameras Black Viper Cam is an all around solid choice for keeping an eye on your hunting property and the wildlife. The invisible flash would make this a great hidden camera for security too.

Be sure to check out the Covert Scouting Cameras Black Viper Cam and the other great offerings on their website. Their quality and value make Covert Scouting Cameras my personal pick for keeping an eye on the local game populations.
