Bear Creek Arsenal offers affordable firepower perfect for your needs.

I got a chance to test out the BCA BC-10 Rifle and their Bear Creek Arsenal Branded Rifle Scope and this is how well they performed.

My friend Bill over at Finest Firearms received for my next review quite an interesting rifle. If you haven’t checked out the Finest Firearms shop in Mentor, Ohio you can check out his selections on his online shop. Quickly I headed over to his store to pick up the BCA BC-10 rifle.

This rifle is Bear Creek Arsenal’s version of the classic AR-10 rifle in the easy to find and hard hitting .308 caliber. This model has their own patented right side charging handle and many other interesting features.

Range day came before Christmas and after the earlier snow blizzards. That day the weather was around 40 degrees, drizzle, and with heavier wind gusts at times. Welcome to the winter weather in Northern Ohio. You hit the range when you can when conditions vary quickly from day to day.

I set up at my local 100 yard gun club range and began the serious part of the review: the actual firing.

For shooting this rifle off a bench, I recommend the shorter 10 round magazines like the PMAG pictured below. This allows more needed clearance between the rifle and the bench itself.

For all other off the bench shooting during this review, I used PMAG 25 round magazines.

I do love the sight of a rifle magazine loaded with .308 ammunition!

With a proper bench rest it was time to test out what groups I could achieve with the Bear Creek Arsenal BC-10 in less than perfect field conditions.

The first cartridge fired for group at 100 yards was the PMC X-TAC 147 Grain FMJ-BT in 7.62×51 NATO. The 2.5 in overall group for 3 shots was achieved. With more practice, less unpredictable wind, and a better familiarization of the trigger pull I am sure I could tighten the group up easily in the future.

The Winchester .308 150 Grain Power-Point scored an even 2″ group.

The Hornady American Whitetail 150 Grain INTERLOK .308 cartridge also scored an overall 2″ group.

The last .308 cartridges I fired on paper for groups are a bit of a mystery. They were discovered at the bottom of my range bag without a box. They appear to have had Sierra style hollow points and “FC” headstamps (Federal) but that is about all I can figure out without an actual box. The below 1″ group at 100 yards proves the BCA BC-10 is capable of incredible groups!

Anything from large game to big vermin (check your local game laws) are in trouble when you are armed with the BCA BC-10 rifle and a 25 round magazine!

Around the homestead a .30 caliber fast shooting rifle is handy for both 4 legged and 2 legged dangers!

Off the bench testing was done firing various manufacturers ammunition while in the standing position. There were no functioning issues found and the last shot fired locked back the bolt correctly on the PMAG magazines.

In overall I found the Bear Creek Arsenal BC-10 an incredible hard hitting rifle for anyone that needs quick, precise firepower. While an AR style rifle purist may not like the side bolt handle on this rifle, I found it to personally be easier to use on the range bench in a seated position and also afield over the old school rear charging handles. The illuminated reticle of the supplied BCA scope using both the red and green light settings picked up low light targets much quick that non-illuminated models. The locking adjustment knobs and the MIL Dot reticle also are great assets to this incredible scope.

In closing I found the BCA BC-10 Rifle and their Bear Creek Arsenal Branded Rifle Scope to be an incredible combination. All I can honestly say is well done BCA! Be sure to check out these great products and also all of the other great offerings on the Bear Creek Arsenal website.
