What is the true story about “Albert Johnson” known as the Mad Trapper?
This hermit’s story certainly has many twists and turns.
Listen to the words of the men that were there during that epic manhunt for the Mad Trapper of Rat River.
YouTuber 13prevail Bushcraft shared a video with four different pictures from the manhunt for the man known as Albert Johnson, the Mad Trapper of Rat River. The post mortem pictures and the DNA testing in more recent years just add to the mystery. The recordings of the actual men that were there during this arctic manhunt are shared for all to listen and imagine what really happened.
I have always been fascinated with the whole saga of Albert Johnson since I was a kid and watched “Death Hunt” with actor Charles Bronson. When I researched the real story of the man so called Albert Johnson I found Hollywood really did get much of it wrong. It is better to get the information from the real fellows that lived the ordeal in the far north.
Sit back and listen to the old time recordings of the men that went on the hunt for the Mad Trapper of Rat River. It certainly is an eye opening look at this historical chase and will probably lead you to do more research. If a few things were different, ole “Albert Johnson” might have never shot those men, be chased and ultimately lost his life. He certainly was a woodsman and wilderness survival expert that was almost impossible to match.
