What is really a horrible idea to try?
How about shooting at 50 pounds of Tannerite up close.
Check out the massive shock wave that was captured in slow motion.
YouTuber Travis Van Couvering shared a video that is quite a cautionary tale for any binary explosive shooter: be sure you are far enough away!
A container packed with 50 pounds of Tannerite was placed on a hill. With mannequin heads in place it is shot at way to short of a distance. The resulting explosion and the shock wave that is caught on slow motion footage is the stuff of legends.
The shooter and the video maker could have both been fatally injured by thrown shrapnel in the form of rocks, tree branches or anything else in the blast zone. Always shoot safely and take great care to make sure that last shot is not the end of you.
