The .45/70 cartridges fit nice and tight but not overly tight that you could not remove them in a hurry.
The construction and stitching are top notch! I really like the raised cheek rest that works especially well for rifles with scopes.
The “creep stop” wrap is very handy indeed! It keeps the 1791 Gunleather Hunt Butt Cuff Ammo Holder in place with no sliding forward motion no matter how much recoil or abuse you give it afield. Genius!
Yes that cheek rest is soft! It also keeps your face warmer on those cold range days.
